The Fernandez Family welcomes you to Abuela’s Nuestra Cocina, an extension of our family home and serving the recipes of our Grandmother’s Kitchen.
Our family moved to McMinnville six years ago in hopes to stay close to our growing children that were soon to be in college. Now, six years later, we have a newly graduated Linfield Wildcat and future teacher in the Yamhill Community, and a current Linfield Wildcat with hopes to become a pediatrician! We were adopted into the McMinnville Community, and are proud to call this place our hometown. You will see the beautiful community we have built when you walk into Abuela’s and notice our wall of angel wings- each a gift from loving family, friends, and loyal customers we have met over the last six years.
Why not Mezcal Sabores de Mexico? Well, if you recall, Abuela’s Kitchen has always been a part of Mezcal. However, we have decided to close our chapter at Mezcal, and bring honor to the strong women in our family- our Abuela’s. Our Abuela’s Julieta, Felicitas, Maria, Gloria, and Manuela, were courageous and independent women who prevailed through the difficult circumstances of Mexico City and Cuernavaca, Morelos to provide for their children. We bring to you a culmination of their best recipes and our favorite childhood memories when you dine at Abuela’s Nuestra Cocina.

I ordered the Chile Relleno and my husband the Steak Fajitas and both were really delicious, they were definitely not your typical average relleno/fajita dishes. The salsa was amazing and beans and rice so yummy. Everything seems so fresh and really did taste like a homemade meal. The staff were adorable and very friendly and atmosphere was super cute.
